Description

This is the Jolly Roger belonging to “Captain Thomas Sea-Gull”

Sea Gull’s flag is a Pennant (A usually narrow, tapering banner)
With contains of 4 (sets) of symbols.

The first symbol is a “Winged“ Hourglass.

This Winged Hourglass has “Sea-Gull Wings”
This because Thomas Sea-Gull has a great fancy for Sea-Gulls (with also explains his self given nick-name)

The upper part of the Hourglass has a “Heart” in it meaning Life, and the lower par has a “Skull” in it meaning Death.

When the time of an Hourglass starts to count down,
the sand in it moves from the upper part down to the lower part of the of the Hourglass.

The more time goes by, the fewer sand is in the upper part, and the more in the lower part of the Hourglass.

In this Hourglass the more time goes by, fewer sand is in the “Life part” and more in the “Death part”

Meaning that sea-Gull’s victims are left with little time to decide to strike their assign (surrender) and therefore choose Life.

The wings on the Hourglass are meant to improve this message, meaning that their time is Swiftly running out, or Flying away.

In the second “Set” of symbols you see a begging a “anatomy” (human figure) with a Heart beside it.

And a standing “anatomy” holding a Sword in it’s hand placed under the first one, witch has a
Heart beside it that is Pierced by a spear/dart, with a blood drip under it.

The anatomy’s represent Sea-Gull’s victims, and the upper and lower anatomy represent two choices they can make when being under attack by Sea-Gull.

And the Hearts next to the anatomy represent the consequence of this choice.

The upper Choice (begging figure) stands for Sea-Gull’s victims Surrendering,
with the result of Life (Heart)

The Choice placed it (standing figure with Sword) stands for Sea-Gull’s victims Fighting, with the result of Death (pierced and bleeding Heart)

The third set of symbols are “Two Crossed Swords” witch represent “Battle”
Meaning that if The victims encore the first two sets of symbols that they will be Boarded, with the result of a fierce Battle (in witch the victims will Die, sins they choose Death in the first two pairs of symbols)

The last symbol is a figure of a Sea-Gull, perhaps so Captain Sea-Gull can make clear to his victims who their dealing with.
